THE PROBLEM: Motivated Texas high school students are looking for a high-quality early-college experience that prepares them for the rigors of university life. Texas universities are looking for top students to enroll in their freshman class. How do we bridge these two groups together?
THE SOLUTION: The UPath Higher Education Marketplace
The UPath Marketplace is a learning platform that will enable motivated Texas high school students to take online college courses from Texas universities for academic credit.
Program for High School Students. UPath connects ambitious Texas high school students to online 1st year college courses from top Texas universities.
College Courses for Credit. Students can enroll in fully online courses for college credit and take courses right from the comfort of their own homes.
Consolidated Platform. The UPath Marketplace is a one-stop shop. A single admissions portal facilitates admission across multiple Texas universities. Once admitted, students can search, review, enroll, and complete courses, all from the same universal platform.
Transferable Credits. Following successful completion of course work, students receive academic credit which is transferable to ALL Texas public colleges and universities. In many cases, credit is transferable to colleges and universities outside of Texas as well.
Courses From Texas Universities. Online courses are identical in scope, content, and academic rigor to in-person curricula offered at our partner universities. Courses are derived from the Texas Core Curriculum and are transferable to all Texas public colleges and universities.
Evaluating a College Path. UPath provides high school students with the skills needed to be successful in college—time management, college-level grading and assignments, peer interaction with professors and classmates, critical thinking, confidence-building, etc.
Convenient Scheduling. UPath provides greater flexibility than traditional in-person programs, with nominal disruption to high school academics and is accommodating to students who do not live near a university campus.
An Edge in College Admissions. A UPath experience gives students an edge in their college admissions, demonstrating to Admissions Officers the academic rigor and discipline required to engage college-level material as a high school student.
Leveraging Online Content. UPath brings existing online first-year level courses from partner universities to the Marketplace.
Multiplier Effect. We tap into the multiplier effect of Marketplaces. Consider, a single university with a single course can attract 100 students—a Marketplace can attract 1,000+ students.
Higher Quality Programs. University courses taught by seasoned PhD-credentialed faculty ensure quality, consistency, and academic rigor. Traditional early-college dual-credit and AP programs, as taught by high school teachers, typically lack this level of scholarly demand.
Student Engagement & Recruitment. The UPath Marketplace enables Admissions Officers to engage with top students, driving enrollment and improving selectivity metrics.
University Partnerships. We negotiate and coordinate with Texas universities for inclusion of their online courses on our platform.
Student Marketplace. Online forum where students apply for admission and search for courses.
Student Management System. Our back-end IT system for managing and coordinating students on the UPath Marketplace.
Course Development. Instructional designers work with university faculty to bring their online courses to UPath.
Learning Management System. Our multimedia interactive portal which students use to engage with their course work.
Student Analytics. Dashboard, analytics, and report management services for university administration.
